On April 24, 2026, it was once again time for the nationwide “Long Night of Research” to take place. The University of Klagenfurt and the Lakeside Park alone welcomed around 9,000 visitors. While not quite that many, still a considerable number of people visited the MatheConnect stand and explored the question of how mathematics and society are connected. At our station, visitors not only gained insights into our research findings, but were also invited to become active themselves. They engaged with socially relevant mathematics tasks designed to encourage discussion, critical thinking, and reflection on the role of mathematics in everyday societal issues.
