With the Sparkling Science 2.0 programme, the BMBWF (Austrian Ministry of Education, Science and Research) funds citizen science projects. These projects focus primarily on cooperation between science and schools, which is why students are involved in the research process.
By actively involving students and citizens in the research process, questions can be addressed that would not be possible without their participation. Subsequently, the goal of bringing students into contact with research at an early stage and providing insights into scientific work is achieved. These insights can then contribute to increasing society's appreciation of research and innovation.
